Sharon Gayle Gianetto

Obituary of Sharon Gayle Gianetto

With her family by her side, Sharon peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the age of 81. She has been reunited with her beloved husband, Joe (2010). Loving mother of Joe (Terry), Jeff and Steve (Liz). Cherished Granny of Joey (Rachel), Kyle, Steven, Brianna, and proud Great-Grandma of Emery. Sharon will be missed by her sister Bonnie, brother Joe (Diane) and by many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was born and grew up in St. Catharines and continued to raise her own family there. She dedicated over 30 years working as a law clerk at Sullivan Mahoney on King Street in St. Catharines. She built many friendships with the girls that worked there and felt that her career was one of her greatest accomplishments. Sharon and Joe spent many years visiting their trailer at Sherkston Shores, where they gathered with friends, enjoyed cocktails at 5 and many years of socializing. This truly gave them the greatest enjoyment in their lifetime. However, her favourite role was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; her family made her proud and gave her much joy.

A special thank you to the nursing home team on the 4th floor at Albright Manor and to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and support. We also want to share some gratitude to Sharon’s niece, Annette, for many visits and for bringing fish and chips for dinner, which mom always enjoyed.

In accordance with Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A Celebration of Sharon’s life and a gathering will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 2-4p.m. at the St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre, 1932 Welland Canals Parkway, St. Catharines (2nd floor, the Lockview Lounge). Memorial donations may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online Condolences may be shared on Sharon’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.

Very, very sad to hear that Sharon has left our lives. Linda and I were fortunate enough to have known Joe and Sharon, for many years, through their friends and neighbours John & Vicki. Sharon, and Joe, were two of the nicest, and most fun, people that we’ve ever known, and we will miss them very much. We were really lucky to have known Sharon, and Joe, and would like all family, friends, and acquaintances, to know that we share their loss.

To Joe, Jeff,, Steve and family,
On behalf of the firm, I want to extend our condolences and sympathy to the entire Gianetto family. We were saddened to learn that Sharon had passed away. She was a long serving, dedicated and valued member of the Sullivan Mahoney family. Sharon was respected and well liked by both lawyers and staff. She will always be an important part of who we are. I know how important her family was to her and her love for Joe was obvious. I’m certain you will have wonderful memories to take you forward.

My deepest sympathies to Sharon’s family. Sharon spoke with great pride about her family. I met Sharon at Sullivan Mahoney when I first started many many years ago. She was a wonderful person with a great, sometimes dry, sense of humor. I am glad she is reunited with her Joe.

My deepest sympathies. A friend of our family for for so many years, Sharon was a great comfort to me when my mum died. (Dorothy) I never forget her kindness, her beautiful smile, her quick and ready wit. Reunited with Joe at last, may they rest in peace.

Joe, Jeff, Steve and families. I am so very sorry to have heard of your mom’s passing. Sharon spoke lovingly and often of her children, grandchildren and her family in general. She was a wonderful person and co-worker, but more than that, she was a very bright, funny and fun loving woman. You could guarantee you’d be in for some laughter, whenever Sharon was amongst us. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace dearest Sharon.

Condolences on your loss… remember her very well as witty, humourous and mischievous at times, along with her partner Joe. Many laughs shared around a campfire at Sherkston most every Friday night and Saturday afternoon get togethers at John And Vicky’s. Rest in Peace old friend.
