Obituary of Scott Barnes "Scottie"

Our hearts are broken as we announce the unexpected passing of Scottie. He died on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in Newmarket. Scottie was a beloved son to Rose Robinson. As a brother he was protective, loving and will be remembered by Trevor Robinson, George Barnes, and Charlotte Barnes. He was an uncle to Nevaeh Barnes and Aaliyah Idehen.

Scott was a nephew to Flo Bird, Jackie Robinson, Shirley Robinson, Dawn Robinson, and Mary McKewn. He is also survived by his cousins; Monica, Billy, Chandler, Brian (Ashleigh), Barb, Abby, Derek, Stephen, Jim, Bonnie, Tammy, Cindy, Lori, Bridget, Patti and Mark Villneff. Will be remembered by Nancy Jacobavich, Julie Hamill, Linda Mcconnell. Scottie was predeceased by his grandparents Carl and Corrine Robinson, his uncle Bill Robinson, Aunt Anne (Ernest) Villneff, cousin Wess Villneff, and special Aunt Edna Kelly.

From the moment Scottie was born and looked into his mother’s eyes, her heart was filled with joy. Throughout childhood he lived an innocent life and spent much quality time with his mom and siblings. Together they built fond memories going to Crystal Beach Park and spent countless hours going on the rides. Rose recalls; Scottie, Charlotte and George spending many hours in the backyard, playing and holding baby bunnies that were there each spring. As he became a teenager, his independence grew and he explored life in his own way. He made many friends, all of whom would recall him as a character because he always made people laugh with his jokes. He was a prankster and would often get away with pulling a quick one on his mother or siblings. When he successfully pranked his mom, Rose, he would proudly boast out loud “I gotcha! Eh, Ma?”

As a brother, he adored his little sister Charlotte, he would have wrestling matches with WWE figurines with his brother George, and shared his favourite pastime as a car enthusiast, with his brother Trevor. Scottie had an admiration for horses, loved playing card games, and he also had an artistic side, where he loved poems and music. His favourite musician was Ozzy and he paid homage to him by tattooing O-Z-Z-Y across his fingers.

Our family reflects on many pictures and moments of the early years of Scottie’s life, as it was filled with family, closeness and love. It is these memories that will forever outshine the challenges of the later years. Regardless of time or space, Scottie was deeply loved and will forever be remembered.

Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A private family gathering will be held, followed by cremation taking place. As an expression of sympathy, contributions towards Scottie’s GoFundMe, would be appreciated by his family.
