Obituary of Sandra Jane Farrer

Sandy Farrer (née Staton) born July 14, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. She leaves behind her beloved daughters Christine (Clay), Chandra (Jason), and Debbie (Bryan); cherished grandchildren Ksaila, Campbell, and Evelyn; and her dear siblings Ken (Linda), Sharon (Ed), and Bev (George), along with many loving nieces and nephews and her many friends.

Sandy was joyfully reunited in heaven with her husband Bill, granddaughter Elyssa, and sister Nancy.

Sandy’s life was defined by her generous heart and unwavering spirit. Following a stroke in 2006, she dedicated herself to helping others as president of SOS Niagara, supporting stroke survivors and their families. Her commitment and leadership were recognized in 2014 with the National Leadership Award from the March of Dimes.

Sandy had a gift for spreading joy wherever she went. She was quick to laugh, surrounded by a wide circle of friends, and found delight in life’s simple pleasures. Her family takes comfort in imagining her heavenly celebration, playing cards and washers—filled with endless pierogis, blooming onions, and bottomless glasses of wine.

Her kindness, humor, and love will live on in all who knew her.

In keeping with Sandy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Survivors of Stroke Niagara or The Heart and Stroke Foundation. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion (141 Hwy 20 E, Fonthill, ON L0S 1E3), September 13 2025 1:00-4:00pm.

Sandy was a much loved “member” of our family. She was family through love, and her friendship with our mother was so special. The laughter and shenanigans those two got into. They are reunited in death now, so stay tuned, because heaven will be rejoicing. Our deepest condolences to your family. Cheryl, Jim, Kyle and Kelly.
