Obituary of Samuel Terrence "Terry" McKay

Sadly, we announce that on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, Terry passed away at the age of 77. He has been reunited with his parents Samuel King McConnel McKay and Dorothy (née McCoy), brother Keith McKay (2024), granddaughter Sabrina Vanvessen (2020), and his fur baby Zeus (2020). He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Carol (née Connor), his son Terry and daughter Valerie.

Terry enjoyed a distinguished career with Ford Motor Company and the Windsor Casino, where his commitment and work ethic were truly exemplary. His passion for community service truly made a difference. Over the years, he held numerous prominent positions, including Past master with the Harmony Masonic Lodge #579 and St. Marks Masonic Lodge #105, Past Grand Lodge Officer, Past Z with the Mt. Nebo Chapter, and member of the Windsor Preceptory. He was also a Mocha Shriner and past secretary of the Moramos Club, and served as the Shrine Circus Chairman for 15 years in Windsor, and Past Raban Mocha Hillbilly Outhouse #2 in Windsor.

Terry’s dedication to community service extended beyond Masonic organizations. He was past President of the Foster Parent Association, and a dedicated member of Canadian Corps #104. He served as 2nd Vice President of Royal Canadian Legion #12, past secretary #255, and past Sergeant at Arms Branch and General Executive for #479. Terry was also a devoted scoutmaster. Alongside his professional achievements, Terry and Carol were foster parents for 15 years, opening their hearts and home to many children and providing them with love and care.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Niagara Falls. If desired, please consider a donation in Terry's memory to a charity of your choice or spend some time volunteering or giving back in your community.
