In Loving Memory of
Roger Lucien Nolet "Chief"
1958 - 2022
Obituary of Roger Lucien Nolet "Chief"
Peacefully in his sleep, Roger passed away at home on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the age of 64. Roger is survived by his sons, Jeffrey and Brian Nolet and by his grandchild Keylea. Roger was predeceased at a young age by his father Lucien and by his mother Huguette. He will be dearly missed by his dad Gaston Champigny (Linda). Roger was loved very much by his siblings: Susan Norman (the late Jerry), Helen Bourque (Al), Guy (Lise), Carole Criece (Gary) and Richard (the late Vickie). He was a special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Roger will also be fondly remembered by his close friends, Thomas and Diane Kelly (who were also his caregivers) and their daughter Moira, Lori, Roger, Grant and his daughter Kealley, Fred and Connie and their son Paul. Those who knew Chief would know that his favourite place was anywhere as long as he was in nature. He enjoyed fishing and would often be found tinkering around and singing. His greatest passion was for stock car and drag racing, and he was always proud to be “Richard’s Pittman”. When Roger was growing up, he was a loving and fun brother. Even his little sister Carole would call him her superheroe, as he was the brother she would always look up to. Rather than wearing a cape, you would find him proudly wearing his Montreal Canadiens jacket or his blue coat. Despite facing challenges in his lifetime, he was always caring and loved his family greatly.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-734-1031). His family and friends will honour his life and gather to say goodbye to Roger, on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 7-9pm at Essentials at 221 Division Street, Welland. Catholic prayers will be shared during the visitation time at 8pm. Cremation will be taking place and a Celebration of Chief’s life will be held at a later time. To honour his love of nature, the family has asked for memorial donations be given to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation, that would be appreciated by his family.
