Obituary of Robert Leonard "Bob" Agar
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bob, our beloved husband, father and grandfather. He passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 75. Beloved husband for 51 years of Jean. Loving dad of Heather and Jim. Special Grampie of Madison. Dear brother of Dave Agar Sr. Uncle Bob will be missed by Lisa and her children Jesse and Eliana, Dave Jr. (Merri-Lee), James Lessick, and also by many cousins and extended Agar and Merritt family members. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Paul Agar. Throughout Bob's life he dedicated many years working for Goodwill Industries in London, Arc Industries in Guelph and Mississauga, and Community Living of Niagara Falls. Later he worked for Casino Niagara for 12 years, retiring in 2008. Bob enjoyed slo-pitch in his younger years, but his favourite pastime was spent playing golf with Jean and with his good friend, the late Dave Kilty. Bob was known for his understanding ear, conversation, advice and his signature style of humour. We will remember him cheering on his baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays, and listening to music, his favourites being; Rock and Roll and the Blues. Thank you to the staff of Pro Resp (respiratory care) for their excellent care and service. In accordance with Bob's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials (905-354-2133). A Wake celebrating Bob's life will be announced and held at a later date. We have fond memories of Bob from high school and a lot of the joking we did. Violates in N.FN.Y.
Sorry for the passing of my Uncle Bob, there are no words when you lose someone you love. Remember there is always warmth and love in Florida.
A good man and friend for over 50 years. Lots of fond memories, discussions and a few wee drams of the good stuff. Cheers mate.
So many fun and fond memories working, golfing and such over the years. It makes me smile and think of Bob when I sit in my rocking chair. Every time he came to our house he always sat in that chair! May he Rest In Peace.
My heart is so sad, but, at the same time, I know Bob and Dave are together and probably having a good laugh. To Jean, Heather, Jim and Madison and Dave Agar I send you my deepest sympathy. Bob was and will be so loved wherever he goes.

To Jean and Family. I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a wonderful boss and so easy to work for and with. My condolences to all of you. I hope you get some comfort in knowing what a wonderful man he was.

My sincere condolences to Jean , her family and friends on the passing of Bob.
My sincere condolences to all of you. Bob was a fine person who I knew through sports activities in the city.
Bob and I attended N.F.C.V.I. together back in the early sixties. He was convinced that one of our teachers had accidentaly switched our records forcing him to write the final exam while I was exempt because our last names were in succession. I remember Bob as a person that cared for and worked for others forgoing a better paying job . We would run into one another over the years at Clancy’s and enjoy a drink together. I always enjoyed his company. He was one of the good guys.
Jean, my heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your family with Bob’s passing. I had the great privilege of meeting and working with Bob at Casino Niagara. His humour was contagious, his concern for and guidance of those around him was genuine. Bob loved to share his family stories and prior “antics” as we shared a glass or two at Danny’s establishments. – Both locations became Front Services hang-outs thanks to Bob! So many good memories of a good, fun, caring man. Jean, whenever I eat turkey, I always remember sitting with you and Bob and you telling me and Bob how you were NEVER cooking turkey for him again after his trip to the hospital. We all ended up laughing until the tears ran down our cheeks, in spite of the concern you were trying to convey to Bob.
Hugs to all. Janet
So sorry to hear of your loss, Jean. Bob will be missed by many. You and you family are in our thoughts and prayers.
So VERY saddened to hear of the loss of your Father/ Husband and friend to so many, to include myself.
I was fortunate to have met and worked with Bob begining with being an Opening Team member of both Niagara Casinos. Everything outlined in his obituary is exactly how I would have described Bob. Understanding; Advice Giver; Great sense of quiet humour and a person that could calm the worst of times. I am lucky to have known him; and very fortunate to have worked along side him for so many years. He was a person that left his mark…
Prayers to you Jean; and your loving family,
Claudette
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We enjoyed many good times at Rolling Meadows with your family and hope you take comfort in those memories as well. You are in our thoughts.
