Obituary of Robert 'Bob' Angus Webster
Our world grew dimmer yesterday as the light of your smile faded. We are saddened to announce the passing of Robert 'Bob' Webster on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the NHS-Welland Site at the age of 81.He has been reunited with his loving wife Bonnie Webster (née Ayres), his parents Charles and Helen, his siblings Shirley Webster, Mary 'Eleanor' Benjamin and Charles Webster and his nephew Steven Webster. His memory will live on through his daughter Betty Robins (John). Affectionately known as 'Grampie' to Richard Plante and Allysha Iemmolo and 'Great Papa' to Lucas, Richard Jr. and Kinsley. A title he held close to his heart. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was a man who brought light wherever he went. Always happy, smiling and ready with a joke, he had a straightforward way about him. He was constantly on the go and it was no surprise that his friends shared that same lively, easygoing spirit. Bob never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t made yet. Whether it was a quick stop or a long visit, he enjoyed coffee chats with anyone who dropped by, making everyone feel welcome and valued.
He had a passion for collecting and loved tinkering in his garage, always working on something or finding a new project to keep his hands busy. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and was looking forward to an upcoming trip to Las Vegas with his family. In earlier years, he and Bonnie made many cherished trips to Reno together.
Bob worked for many years as a long-haul truck driver, a career that reflected his independence, dedication and love of the open road.
Above all, Bob loved his family. He took great joy in spending time with them, especially watching his great-grandchildren play sports—moments that meant the world to him and he will be remembered for his warmth, his humor and his ability to make everyone feel like a friend.
His family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the NHS-Welland Site. Everyone from the ER dept to the 6th floor. Your compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held in the near future.
If desired, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Welland SPCA or to C.O.P.D Canadian Lung Association.
