Obituary of Rita Marie Lalonde (nee Duhaime)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rita Marie Lalonde on Friday, April 15, 2022, after bravely battling many illnesses, at the age of 82. Loving mother of Mark (Sylvia), Michael (Shannon), and Matthew (Miranda). Nana to her four grandchildren, Garrett, Sierra, Blake and Jaxon. Dear sister to Annette (the late Charlie) Whitehead of Alberta, brothers to Raymond (Lynn) Duhaime of Ottawa. Predeceased by her parents Noella and Joseph Duhaime, brothers Laurent, Robert, Jean and sister Theresa.Rita’s hard work ethic, which she passed on to her three sons, will never be forgotten by them. We are all going to miss her great sense of humour. The family would like to thank Dr. C. Hu and all the staff at Meadows of Dorchester for the loving care and compassion they showed our mother over the years!
Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A service will not be held at this time. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date and Rita will be buried beside her mother Noella and sister Theresa at Nativity Cemetery in Cornwall. My deepest sympathies for the boys. Mark, Matthew and Michael. A great and strong woman. Growing up next to you and sharing our junior years. Your mom was so capable and strong. I know you will miss her greatly.
