Obituary of Richard Robert Witkowski
August 11, 1958 - January 15, 2026With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with those he loved—playing games, sharing laughter, creating memories, and simply being together.
His pride in his family was evident in everything he did, and his legacy lives on through the many memories he helped create.
A passionate fan of the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on his teams.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love, kindness, and dedication to the people who mattered most to him.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday January 26th at 4pm at The Barrel Restaurant in Fort Erie (224 Garrison Rd, Fort Erie, ON L2A 1M7).
All are welcome in your favourite hockey team apparel or Sabres colours (blue/gold or black/red) to honour and remember our much loved Dad/Grampa/Rick.

The toughest roads always lead to the most beautiful panoramas!
See you next time my friend.
Jamie, Michelle, Jackie, and the rest of the family,
I’m sending you all my love right now as you navigate the loss of your beloved dad.
I remember when we were little, he always had cool style. I loved the art pieces with the little lightbulbs in them. He always seemed ahead of his time.
His demeanour stands out as calm when I think of him, and his devious little smile. Your home always felt safe and welcoming.
“Jamer. Jame. Jamie. Jamie. Jame. Jamie. Jame. Jamer. Jame…” he was a funny guy.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you have so much love and support around you right now.
Dear Jamie and family. I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you.
We’re really sorry, Jamie. Please tell him to pet Potter for us.
