Obituary of Richard Paul Nadon
NADON, Richard “Dick” Paul - Welland, OntarioIt is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dick on March 18, 2021 at the age of 76. He was surrounded by his loving family at the St. Catharines General Hospital.
He married Hélène (née Paquin), the love of his life, in 1969, who survives him. Dick is also survived by sons Luc (Debbie) from Welland, Mario, and daughter Rachelle from Saskatoon, his grandchildren Laura and Marc, his mother Mary Beatrice Nadon (née Germain), his brother Michael (Claire) in Cornwall, and nieces & nephews. Dick is predeceased by his father Paul Émile Nadon and his sister Agnes Leduc (Raymond) from Cornwall.
Dick retired from Canada Customs after 30 years; he worked in Cornwall, Lahr West Germany, Niagara Falls, and the Canada Customs College. Dick enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul in Welland, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Legion. After retirement he wintered in Florida with Hélène for 15 years. Dick enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and they were a big part of his life. Dick loved music and played guitar to entertain friends and family, this passion was passed on to his grandson Marc.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). As per his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has decided to have a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to your local St. Vincent De Paul or the Welland Office; this would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences and donations may be made on Dick’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.
