Obituary of Richard Allan Sutherland
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Allan Sutherland on Monday, January 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured moments.Richard was a man of diverse passions, with an unwavering love for life evident in every facet of his being. His greatest joy was found in the companionship of Axel, his faithful and beloved dog, with whom he shared countless adventures, forging a bond that transcends time.
A true aficionado of life's simple pleasures, Richard found solace in the comforting ritual of Tim Hortons coffee, meticulously prepared with 5 sugars and 3 creams. He appreciated the finer things in life, from his love for branded clothing to the rings that adorned his fingers, reflecting his unique sense of style. Richard's vibrant spirit was also captured in his love for cologne, leaving an indelible impression on those around him. His zest for adventure and storytelling created a tapestry of memories that will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to share in his experiences.
Family was at the core of Richard's heart. Born to the late Stanley Sutherland and Patricia Buckland (née Bice), he was a father to Kaylea and Abbigail. His siblings, Kenny (Elaine), Peewee (Sandy), Dan, Gord (Roseann), Elizabeth (Corey) and the late Joanne were not just family but also his steadfast companions on life's journey. Richard was a beloved nephew to John Buckland and he himself was an uncle to nieces Ashley, Christina, Samantha, Audrianna, Madison, Calleigh, Olivia, Emily, Hailey, and Leah, as well as nephews Blake, Kenny Jr. and C.J. His love and playful spirit enriched the lives of each family member, fostering a strong bond that will endure. Richard also leaves behind two great nephews, Cohen and Carter, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Their laughter and innocence were a source of delight, creating a special connection that will be forever cherished.

He was a wonderful person, a real coffee lover and an excellent worker. It was easy to work with him, thanks to his politeness and positive attitude. He will always live in the hearts of those who remember him. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends.
We had the pleasure of knowing Ritchie for the past several years and enjoyed our conversations on so many mornings. Ritchie was a kind, polite, soft spoken generous and gentle soul and a good friend. Taken too soon but will always be remembered. Rest in peace Ritchie . Sending our condolences to the surviving family. Rafael and Elka Your Everything Store.
My condolence to the family at this time. Meeting Richard a few times and hanging out he always greeted and accepted me as if he knew me for a decade. He was always kind, friendly and we had great conversations when I would come down to Niagara. You could see the love he had for his family. May he rest in peace and look over everyone.
Ritchie’s warmth and kindness touched many people and his loss is deeply felt. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that I am here for you all.
