Obituary of Renee Martin
MARTIN, ReneePeacefully passed away surrounded by love, support, and family at Hospice Niagara on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, two days before her 45th birthday. Beloved wife and best friend for more than 27 years to Scott and loving mother of Spencer and Wyatt. Cherished daughter of Lemuel and Evangeline Martin of Toronto. Dear sister of Andre (Amanda) and Dwayne (Nadine). Renee will be missed by her nieces, Beckie and Jennifer, and also by her fur-baby, Sookie. Our world has lost a selfless, caring, and fierce woman. Renee was a strong advocate and was a passionate activist for social justice at home here in St. Catharines. She would proudly support the Niagara Region Anti-Racism Association and the LGBTQ community. Renee would proudly use her heart and intelligence to stand up for equal rights, and she would support those in need of help. Our family will miss her incredible culinary skills, especially when she would make stew chicken and Mac and Cheese Pie. Her brilliant mind was often expressed and shared in many online blogs, a pastime she thoroughly enjoyed. Ultimately for Renee, her world revolved around her family. Renee will be remembered and missed by her family and friends. A special thank you to the team at Hospice Niagara for their compassionate care and support for Renee.
In accordance with Renee's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A private memorial service will be held for the family. All family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Renee's Life on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 1-4pm at the Robertson Hall, 85 Church St, St. Catharines. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations my be given to Black Lives Matter Toronto or to Hospice Niagara. "And I want all the world to know, that your love's all I need. All that I need. And if we're lost, then we are lost together. Yea if we're lost, then we are lost together."
