Obituary of Renald Roland Shute

Renald Roland Shute
February 12, 1958 - January 8, 2021

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3: 5-6 (NKJV)

Though it is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Renald Roland Shute in his 63rd year, in the early morning hours of Friday, January 8th 2021; we rejoice that healing is now complete and that Renald is now with our HEAVENLY Father and Saviour The Lord Jesus Christ.

He was a loving husband to Susan (nee Neil), father of Mary (Mike), Jonathan (Shea), Neil (Gloria) and Stacey (Mark); grandfather of 11 & great grandfather to 1, plus a doggy daddy to Pepper. He was a brother to Bernard (Monica) and Daniel (Kristine), a loving uncle, a friend to many and brother in Christ. Predeceased by his parents Rita and Bernard Shute.

Though his time was cut short from the ravages of cancer, his life was well-lived and he will leave many mourning his loss. His proverbial smile and optimistic outlook on life will never be forgotten. Quiet in demeanor it was his kind-heartedness that shone through. He was self-taught but highly skilled, always willing to lend a helping hand or give expert advice. He was a jack of all trades and a master of many, everyone's favourite handyman teaching his children many skills as well .

A 36yr General Motors employee Renald retired in November of 2019. He was a dedicated worker always giving 100+%. Back in the day, he enjoyed our times playing volleyball with his family and friends. He was a frequent fixture at Fairview Lanes as a 10 pin bowler himself or the supportive father, coach and chauffer to our 4 kids' with all their varied sports activities. Renald never missed a game if he wasn't working. Since 2012 his passion for camping was realized with the purchase of our fifth wheel camper and began a wonderful "season" of glamping around North America with his wife, and often with his brother Bernard and family or a grandkid or 2 in tow. Our times at Lazy Lakes were always something to look forward to and those memories and friendships made will always be cherished. As well as our times at our friend's cottage in the beautiful Nipissing area.

He was an active loved member of Westburne Alliance Church in St. Catharines for many years where Renald's love of God was nurtured and grew and his time spent helping to organize the 50/50 group was a highlight for him. Renald was always willing to readily partake in many a Church potluck dinners or the men's breakfast.

In honour of Renald's love for and dedication to donating blood, which he did in excess of over 100 times in his lifetime; his family would greatly appreciate donations of monetary funds or blood donations to the Canadian Red Cross, or donations to the charity of one's choice. Even in Renald's passing he selflessly gave the gift of life by being a tissue donor through the Trillium Gift of Life Network.

With deep gratitude the entire family of Renald Shute wish to thank all of his doctors, nurses and the many PSW's that cared for Renald throughout this entire journey. Many that graced our door and touched our hearts with their loving yet professional care. GOD truly blessed us with these angels.

Renald's final care has been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A memorial service will be held for him at a later date.

This is not goodbye forever love, just "I will see you later" in our Heavenly home and don't forget to call me later đź’– And he'd reply "Okie dokie!"

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you ; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace. NUMBERS 6:24-26

I am so sorry for your loss. I was encouraged by the fact that he knew Jesus as his Saviour. Please accept my condolences from my family. He reminds me so much of Uncle Bern, his father.

To Susan and your entire family, our most sincere sympathy for your deep loss. Renald was always helpful, happy and fun to be with. I will always remember our trip to Stevensville for ice cream cones. Renald was always glad to give me computer help too. His smile and generous nature will be dearly missed.

I will miss his smile and the Lord of Life will enjoy that smile.

Revelation 14:13

“And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”

“We weep with those who weep” and send our sincere sympathies at this time of great loss. But today we are also remembering the many times we laughed and rejoiced together with Renald joining in wholeheartedly. His passing leaves a big hole in our hearts, but we look forward to the day we will all rejoice together again.
