Obituary of Reinhold Spadzinski
Reinhold Spadzinski passed on to be with his Lord and Saviour, at his residence, and surrounded by his family, on October 29, 2021 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 60 years to Margarete (née Arle). Loving father of Ernie (Evelyn, née Gesch), David(Julie, née Leclerc), and Andrew (Debbie, née Chambers). Opa will be forever in the hearts of his grandchildren; Andrew (Keena), Marcus (Alesha), Rachelle (Nathan), Aleesha (Brandon), Timothy, Jacquelyn, Christena, Matthew and Benjamin. He also leaves a 3 rd generation legacy with his great grandchildren; Zara, Zoe, and baby soon to make an appearance in March 2022. Dear brother of Erika Mayhew (the late John) and Peter Spadzinski (Esther, and the late Brenda). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Anna (née Ziesmann) and Adam Spadzinski, his 2 sisters, Frieda and Martha, and brother Ernst.
Reinhold was born in the town of Michalkowo, West Prussia, on October 2, 1935. He was the 3rd of six children born to Adam and Anna. Having survived many struggles during the war years, the Spadzinski family emigrated to Canada in 1953 and settled in Sudbury. Reinhold returned to Germany in 1959 to attend Bible School and graduated in the spring of 1961. During his time of study, he met Margarete Arle and in June 1961 they were married. Less than a month later, Reinhold and Margarete were on a ship to Canada (on the Arkadia) and settled in Sudbury with family already there. Here they ministered for the next 3 years. They were blessed with their firstborn, Ernie, in 1962, and second born, David, in 1963. It was then, in 1963, they moved and settled in Niagara. They lived in Niagara Falls for the next five years and planted a church there (German Branch PAOC). Andrew, their third son, was born in 1966. The family moved to a home they built in Welland, in 1969, and only recently moved back to Chippawa, Niagara Falls. Reinhold worked at General Motors for 26 years while pastoring in several churches. Following his retirement from GM in 1991, Reinhold continued to minister in a lead pastor role until 2003, and as an associate, until 2017, at the Lighthouse Church of God in Niagara Falls. Reinhold was a hardworking, compassionate man who found great fulfilment in serving His Lord, in Ministry, and in loving his God and his family. He will be greatly missed by many! With respect to Reinhold’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at The Lighthouse, 8652 Sodom Road, Niagara Falls, on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 10 AM. On behalf of the Wilson’s Family we extend our sincere condolences and prayers to Margaret, Ernie, Dave, Andrew, and all the Spazinski family. Rev. Ron was a true man of God who called a spade a spade. I love him very much because he was a great example to me serving on the COG Regional Board and serving as His Regional Overseer. and being a younger person he showed such dignity and respect to the office and to the Fellow Board Members. I celebrate his home going because He has “Fought a good Fight He has kept the faith and Finished His race and is now welcomed in Christ presence whom he loved and served. Endlich mit der Seufzer Fülle
bricht der Geist durch jede Hülle
und der Vorhang reißt entzwei.
Wer ermisset dann hienieden,
welch ein Meer voll Gottesfrieden
droben ihm bereitet sei?
Jesu, lass zu jenen Höhen
heller stets hinauf uns sehen,
bis die letzte Stunde schlägt.
Da auch uns nach treuem Ringen
heim zu Dir auf lichten Schwingen
eine Schar der Engel trägt.
(Karl Friedrich Hartmann – 1743-1815)
Liebe Marget,
I am so sorry for your loss. I just happened to check in to listen to an online sermon and saw that Pastor Ron has passed on. With tears in my eyes, I am writing this. Pastor Ron was the most loving and generous man I have known. Always so cheerful, and welcoming with the brightest smile. So full of Godliness. I will never forget his smile or the love that he showed Simon and myself. Christ really did shine through him. He really made you feel like family. He truly was a blessing to people and a gift from Heaven. May God bless and comfort all of you at this time.
It was our great privilege to have known Pastor Ron (Opa) over the past couple of years. Though it was short, he filled our hearts with joy and laughter. We will miss his jokes and warm smile. Our deepest condolences to Margaret, Ernie, Dave, Andrew, and all the Spazinski family. We will all be reunited again in Heaven. We pray for God’s peace and comfort to surround the family.
We are sending an angel from earth to heaven. We were blessed in many ways to have known him. Pastor Ron was a wonderful man, husband, father, and Pastor (teacher). i am so sorry to hear his life on this earth ended, but rejoice for him for he is with our lord.
To all, his family, friends and church members, my deepest condolences.
Deepest condolences to Esther and Peter, Reinhold’s family and all in the Spadzinski family who will feel this loss so profoundly. Keeping you all in our prayers.
Thinking of your family as you remember a dear husband, father grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
Sincere sympathy.
Praying for peace and comfort ,treasure all the precious memories ..take comfort in knowing you will all be together in your heavenly home to part no more …
I have so many good memories…going back decades when the kindness and kindred spirit of Ron brought our families together in friendships which continue still. A caring heart, principled, unwavering faith and that mischievous teasing. (Not sure if I should mention the occasional long sermon, but there, I did.) I experienced it all, and learned from him. Including for one winter, when as a young man, generosity and kindness were extended to me in the shape of that special subterranean space as place to sleep. The family meals and personal conversations were bonus and unforgotten. To my friends, I extend sincere condolences and pray that fond memories remain and eternal hope sustain you.

We have so many wonderful memories of your dad, your mom & our families hanging out when we were young, and continued to adulthood. I have had the privilege of knowing your parents most of my life. Your dad was a very warm, loving, kind Godly man. A man that always worked hard, took family responsibilities seriously, helped others. We loved him very much. My dad & pastor Ron were very much alike, they loved God, loved their families, loved people, loved to help, & loved to laugh. We have a wonderful photo of our 2 dads at Betty’s Restaurant Mother’s Day 2017, they are both smiling, ear to ear. It was just months before my own dad passed away. We had a lovely chat with your dad 7 weeks ago under his balcony at his new home. He was as warm & kind as ever. Our deepest sympathy to Margaret, Ernie, Dave, Andrew, all their wonderful wives, their children & grandchildren. We are praying for you.
