Obituary of Reginald "Reg" Hanna
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reginald "Reg" Hanna on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the NHS-Niagara Falls Site at the age of 73. Reg has been reunited with his parents Harry and Margaret Hanna (née Anderson). Reg is survived and missed by his wife of 51 years Deborah and his two children Reggie JR and Meghan. Reg will also be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Reg will be terribly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.Reg was a devoted employee of Stelco for many years. Though reserved and gentle in spirit, Reg was strong-willed and could surprise those close to him with moments of humor that lit up a room. He disliked confrontation and always chose compassion, consistently standing up for his family and for the underdog. His generosity was quiet but profound, and nothing made him prouder than his beloved son and daughter.
Reg found joy in the simple, meaningful pleasures of life. He loved camping, traveling, especially travelling to Ireland with his wife and going on cruises and vacation with his family. Creative at heart, he enjoyed building model planes and cars, working with wood and spending time outdoors or orienteering. Christmas was his favorite holiday and he embraced its spirit of warmth, togetherness and wonder.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Reg enjoyed playing basketball, watching baseball and coaching his kids three-pitch team. He also enjoyed taking his kids to hockey and cheering them on. But above all, he remained a kid at heart. He adored cartoons, especially Looney Tunes and Disney movies.
Reg’s life was a testament to quiet goodness, steady devotion and wholehearted love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Niagara Falls. If desired, donations in memory of Reg may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Sorry to hear of Reg passing. I was in high school at Churchill with him and played together on the same midget hockey team at Parkdale.
RIP.
Work alongside Reggie for quite a few years in Stelco.
A lovely guy.
Rip Reggie
I first met Reg in grade 9 at Delta High School. We met again at Sir Winston Churchill High School. He introduced me to Tommy Grant Variety which had a lunch bar.. I was new to the area because I lived near Ottawa St. and knew only a few students at Churchill. Reg was a good friend. We lost touch and our lives went in different directions but I always wondered where he was and how he was doing. May his spirit be always with you.
I went to WH Ballard and Winston Churchill HS and distinctly remember his house on Barons Avenue in Hamilton. We played hockey together as well, He was fast. “Reggie” as we called him back then was well liked. God rest his soul and bless his family.
RIP Reg I enjoyed working with you, you will be deeply missed.
