Obituary of Raymond "Ray" Brown

It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Ray Brown on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, surrounded by the love of God and his adoring family; his beautiful wife Marian of 45 years and their loving daughter Louise (Christopher Smith).

Left to mourn this loss are Ray's sister Anne (Peter) Herzberg, his nephew Michael, his brother-in-law Joe and (Dianne) Nepp; his nieces Michelle (Tim) Wirag and Danielle, and his great niece Emily.

Ray has been reunited with his father and mother, Herbert Arthur and Irene (Thoma) Brown, and his in-laws, Rudolf and Elizabeth (Binder) Nepp.

Ray was known as someone who always had a smile on his face and always had a positive, zen-like attitude. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and dancing with his wife, Marian, especially to the song "Black Cars". Ray was a long-time active member of St. Joseph's Church and the Black Creek Community Association. He also bowled with the Cataract Seniors Bowling League and was an "honourary" Girl Guide. Ray was a dedicated electrician at Atlas Specialty Steels. After retiring, he enjoyed riding trains in Brazil, Thailand and Scandinavia. He loved going on cruises to places such as Greece, Cuba, Israel and Italy. He enjoyed driving his Sebring convertible to Florida and beyond. Ray spent as much time as possible with family and friends, even if it meant skating and swimming! He was a pillar of his tight-knit community and will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905) 354 2133. A Funeral Mass will be held in honour of Ray at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 6548 Dorchester Rd, Niagara Falls, ON on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00AM with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Snyder. If you would like to attend the Funeral Mass, please call Essentials to confirm your attendance as space is limited due to Covid restrictions.

If desired, donations to the St. Joseph Cemetery Fund or The Black Creek Community Centre would be appreciated by the family.
