Obituary of Raymond Whissell
August 19, 1936 - October 31, 2021Passed away peacefully on Sunday at Oakwood Park Lodge in Niagara Falls. He was a loving brother of Rita (John, 2000) Van Oosten, Patti (Darrell) Grande, Bob (Anne) Whissell, Corrine (Danny, 1991) Kirkwood, and Kathleen Patterson (David Ferguson). Dear Uncle Raymond to several nieces and nephews. He has been reunited with his parents, Edward and Jeanne, brother Conrad (2002) and nephews Richard (1977) and Matthew Kirkwood (2020). Our family will fondly remember Raymond for his love of life. In his youth, he was active and was a volunteer fireman, scuba diver, and hunter. He dedicated a number of years working with Nabisco.
A special thank you to the staff at Oakwood Park Lodge for all the care they gave to Raymond during his stay.
Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 4300 Drummond Road, Niagara Falls (905-354-2133). A final goodbye for Raymond will be held at Essentials on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 6-7pm. Proof of vaccination and identification will be requested for those who are attending the final goodbye at Essentials. Cremation will follow. A private family graveside interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of one's choice. Ray lived in our apartment building for a few years. He was always so sweet to me and was a good friend to my husband. Our deepest sympathy for his passing. May God comfort you at this sad time.
