Obituary of Randall Hans Olf “Randy”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randy, on Sunday, April 25, 2021, who peacefully passed away in his home at the age of 62. Forever his Mama’s boy, he will be lovingly remembered by his mother Inge Olf. A beloved father who was the best listener and gave the warmest hugs, will be greatly missed by his children; Amy Olf-Anderson (Jan-Eric Anderson), Jessica Hager (Jake Hager), Madison Olf (Nick Sulzer), and Fallon Olf. Proud grandfather of; Alexis Howe, Alyssa Howe, Lyla Covell, Faith Hager and Whitley Sulzer. Dear brother of Rainer Olf and Ilona Henderson and a special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Randy has been reunited with his loving father, Gunther Olf.

Throughout Randy’s life, he faced many difficulties living with depression and anxiety. However, when he was around his family and friends, he would focus on making those moments enjoyable filled with love, fun and goofy jokes. He was always the life of the party and you could always count on Randy to make you laugh.

He spent his entire career working and retiring from Yellow Freight. Outside of work, you would find Randy tinkering around, as he was crafty and would take things apart and rebuild them. He was an artist and enjoyed drawing and colouring (which he was amazing at), and he loved music, especially classic rock 'n roll. When a song would start on the radio, he would like to challenge those around him to name the song and the band or artist. Randy also found happiness standing beside water with a fishing pole in his hand. These are the memories that we will remember Randy by. He had a big heart and regardless of how he expressed it, he loved his family more than anything in the world.

In accordance with Randy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and Randy has been returned home to be with his mom and family. A memorial service celebrating Randy’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.
