It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rainer Manfred Fietkau, who lost his 20 year battle with cancer in the comfort of his own home, surround by the love of his family on Monday, August 29, 2022. He was the devoted "Hun" of almost 57 years, Loretta. Rainer will be terribly missed by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and by the many friends who had the pleasure of knowing his gentle spirit.
Rainer came to Canada from Germany at a very young age and worked as a tool and die setter before venturing out to pursue his passion of being his own boss. He married Loretta in 1965 in Mimico and the 2 have been inseparable ever since.
Rainer was an inventor at heart. He was known for making up games for his children and grandchildren that would get their mind working. He would compose mathematical board games and number quizzes. He was a simple man with a great sense of humor, always joking and was young at heart.
