Obituary of Philip Douglas Sedore

After a long, courageous battle, Phil passed peacefully on September 26, 2022 at the age of 66. Beloved husband and best friend of almost 40 years to Bonnie (nee Staples). Loving father to Jennifer (Darrell) Moore and Jeffrey Sedore. Proud and cherished Papa to his grandson David, who was the light of Phil's life. Much loved brother to Pam (Greg) MacDonald and brother-in-law to Elizabeth Staples, Carole (Bruce) Mair, Beverley (Pastor Tom) Phillips, Patt Staples and Josh Bennett. Dear uncle to his nieces and nephews: Paul, Sandra (Andrew), Beth, Krissy, Colin (Manda), Matthew (Nicole), Josh (Emily), Micah, Timothy, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Al and Pat Sedore, sister-in-law Susan Bennett, niece Mariah Phillips, and in-laws Ken and Shirley Staples.

Phil worked for Ingredion (formerly Casco) for 28 years. He was very skilled when it came to anything technical and mechanical, and always took the time to understand how something worked. He took a special interest in electronics, and could often be found tinkering with objects to try to make them work better. Phil was a pilot, and had a passion for history, especially the topics of World War II and aviation. An avid outdoorsman, Phil enjoyed camping, fishing and snowmobiling. He will be remembered for his love of his family, and especially for the special relationship he had with his grandson. The sun rose and set with him, and vice versa.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the family and friends that have supported them and Phil through his long journey. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Also, special thanks to Dr. Scher for his compassion, the Walker Family Cancer Centre and Crystal from St. Elizabeth's.

In keeping with Phil's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 30 at 11 a.m. at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, 2250 Highway 20, Fonthill. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (https://www.warplane.com). Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-734-1031).
