Obituary of Peter N. Savoie

SAVOIE, Peter N.
Peacefully with his family by his side, Peter passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 70. Cherished and loved by his partner, Cathy MacInnis. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his children, Kim (Stuart Rattai) and Cory, also by their mother, Gail. Proud Papa of Flint and Renata. Dear brother of William (the late Carol) Savoie, Mona Keast, and Robynn (Sam) Bombicino. Peter will be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Ronald Savoie (2014). 

When we think about Peter, we remember how he was a handy man, a jack of all trades. A dad, who always knew the right thing to say. He had broad shoulders and would do anything to help his family and friends. Throughout his life, he was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed playing and watching games, especially baseball and golf. Peter was easy going, sociable, and quick witted, which added humor and good times to all occasions. Peter worked for the Ministry of the Environment for over 25 years. In his retirement he spent time doing what he loved most with his family and friends, whether that was playing sports, cooking, traveling or lending a hand. A thank you to the Niagara Health System, for making his last days peaceful and comfortable. In accordance with Peter's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service that will take place at 2 p.m. (please arrive for 1:45 p.m., at the main gates of the cemetery). on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Fairview Cemetery, 4501 Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls. Following the interment, everyone is invited to a Celebration of Peter's Life, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 6101 North Street, Niagara Falls, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be given to Jumpstart For Kids.
