Obituary of Peter Charron

Passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on January 10, 2023. Peter was a devoted husband to Mary (Mimi) for 56 and a half years. Loving father to Dave (Michelle) and Steve (Sherry). Adored Papa to his darling granddaughters, Emily and Kaitlyn. Cherished brother-in-law to Larry (Wendy) Wilson, Marie (Gil) Martin and Flo Damico. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Ethel Charron, his sister Linda, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and JoJo Wilson, and brothers-in-law John Damico and Robert Damico.

Peter was an Electrician for 56 years, and a proud member of IBEW Local 303 in Niagara. He worked at E.S. Fox for 31 years. In his younger years, much of Peter's spare time was spent coaching Port Colborne Minor Baseball, helping coach hockey and volunteering his time as a Cub and Scout leader. He was an avid sports lover and a longtime fan of the Green Bay Packers, Montreal Canadiens and Montreal Expos. He also had a love for music, and was a drummer in numerous bands. Peter enjoyed woodworking, and could often be found tinkering around the house. He was a kind, hardworking man who also had a real fun-loving side to him. Peter was well-liked, and always had a smile on his face. He will be remembered for his immense love for his family and for being a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Welland and Port Colborne Hospitals for their care and compassion.

In keeping with Peter's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to JumpStart. Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.
