Obituary of Peter Charles McRae
In Loving Memory of Peter Charles McRaeApril 3, 1971 - May 31, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Peter, who left us on May 31, 2024, at the age of 53. Pete was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness, humour, and generous spirit.
He is survived by his parents, Sheena and Dave McRae; sister, Jennifer (Marcel) McRae; his children, Britanee (Michael) and Matthew McRae; nieces, Danielle Levesque, Marissa Kukreja, and Kayla (John) Creton; along with his great-nieces, Lillian and Gracie White, who will cherish his memory forever. Peter's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him. He was predeceased by his loving brother, David McRae; uncle, Duncan Sinclair; the loving mother of his children, Shay Thorne; and his four-legged soulmate, fur baby Duke.
Peter was born on April 3, 1971, and grew up in Niagara Falls, where he developed a love for working on vehicles in the comfort of his home. His passion for fast cars led him to build lasting relationships. Pete was known for his infectious laughter and as a great caregiver to his parents. His friends and family remember him as someone who always had time for a chat, was always offering a helping hand, and would drop everything to be there for his family. Peter loved to take Lillian and Gracie to the pool and park. He had a unique ability to make people feel special and loved. Leo, his fur baby whom he loved so very much, will continue to be cared for by his family members.
In accordance with Peter's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to a visitation being held on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 7 pm to 9 pm at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 4300 Drummond Rd, Niagara Falls. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, a cause close to Pete’s heart.
Peter will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace. We love you!

I will forever cherish the memories and friendship I was fortunate to share with Petey There are soo many memories of hanging out in the garage, at the pool, in the hydro fields, and the plaza. His contagious giggle and unwavering kindness will forever be imprinted in my heart.
Rest easy my sweet friend.
Britanee, Matthew and the McRae family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I remember so many things about Peter hanging out on Keith Street with my brother as they were growing up. RIP Peter❤️

My thought and love go out to you all
Pete has always had a huge loveable heart. He will be greatly missed.
I always smile when I think of him and I always will.
Love you Pete
It breaks our hearts to know the pain once again that my extended McRae family is feeling with the sudden loss of Peter. I will forever be grateful for the many memories, camping trips, parks, company picnics and laughs shared with Peter and the McRae family. Please remember Peter as the silent, gentle giant with little to say but when he did, it was never a bad thing about anyone. He was the observer, the watcher and the listener. He would do anything for his family as he had shown many times and always had their backs. He cared for everyone deeply and was a loving Father, Son, Brother, uncle and friend. Peter took in many strays and gave them a forever fur family home, his fur companions of choice, rescuing him as much as he recused them. He will be missed and always remembered for the person Peter was. May his memories live on forever through his family.
