Obituary of Patrick Oliver Reeves
On January 5 2024, at the age of 85, just before 4:00 pm, as was Partick's routine, his family shared a sip of Jameson whiskey at his bedside, where they wished him peaceful passing to be reunited with his beloved wife Patricia.Patrick's life was a fascinating journey that began in Ireland, where he was raised in Graignamanagh. He became a master at the craft of plastering. At the age of 21 he set forth on an adventure to America with his sister Francis. Patrick continued his journey with his American best friend Richard Chavarrie, who would later be his best man and godfather to his first born son ("Sean Reeves"). Making their way to California in the 60's, Patrick would meet his wife, Patricia Lato, at the church youth group and fall in love. Tying Patrick down to married life was not an easy task, but on July 10 1965 Pat and Pat were wed in Canada, at Our Lady Of Fatima parish. They returned to California to begin a life together filled with friends and good times. On the 27th of October 1969 Particia gave birth to their first child, their son, Sean Reeves. In 1971, after an earthquake they made the easy decision to return to Canada and make it their home. After purchasing their home in 1973 little did they know that they would meet the Comerford family, neighbours, who would become like family for 50 plus years. In 1974, they were blessed with the birth of their second child, a daughter, Kimberly Reeves.
Patrick worked 28 years for Metro Toronto Police as a Serviceman, making lifelong friends along the way who stayed in touch throughout his 24 years of retirement. Patrick's charm, kindness and enduring handsomeness endeared him to those who were fortunate enough to cross his path. Throughout Patrick's life, his true passion was family and friends and he cherished the time he spent with all of them.
Patrick was a loving father to Sean (Yvette) and Kim (Chris), a cherished Papa to Cassi (Toby) and Clare, a devoted brother to Frances (Tom), Carmel (Tommy) and John (Jana). He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Rose "Cookie" and Greta "Deetee" and brother-in-law Joe (Sharon), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and all of whom held a special place in his heart.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Niagara Falls. A funeral service will be held on Saturday January 27, 2024 at Andrew's Community Funeral Center, 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton, ON at noon with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patrick's memory to Share Life, an organization that was near and dear to Patrick's heart.
You will be missed, rest in peace Pa.
