Obituary of Patricia Anne Stempski

Stempski, Patricia Anne (nee Blain)
passed away in the arms of loved ones, shortly after her 74th birthday, this past Saturday morning; February 6, 2021.

Patricia was born in Timmins in 1947 and raised with love by Paul And Mary Blain. She is survived and lovingly missed by her sisters Gail Smerek (Ross Clausi) and Pam (Jean Marc Dinet) (cousin) and her brother Chris (Deanna). Loving mother of Rachel (Mitch Miljus) and Ethan (Vanessa Ashworth). Admiring Granny of Dierks, Sophie, Macy and Georgia. She will be sadly missed by her Aunt Jean, The BFF Gang, Roger, Mary, Andy, Denise, Rolly, Muriel, Patti, Marilyn, Jo, Liz, so many other long-time friends, and all her nieces and nephews.

Pat lived a fulfilling life, she moved from her hometown of Timmins when she was 18 to Pembroke for x-ray training and soon set roots down in Niagara Falls. She worked and had many stories to tell of her early years at the hospital. Shortly after, she had the pleasure of helping open and run the x-ray and ultrasound clinic in the professional building with her favourite team of doctors and friends. In the early years of that, she worked tirelessly through night school to obtain her ultrasound accreditation. She retired after 42 years of commitment and memories. To say she was dedicated was an understatement of her character.

Patricia lived her life with her whole heart. If something was worth doing, it was worth doing well. She was world renowned for telling you the truth, even if you didn’t want to hear it. She was genuine to a fault and a pussycat at heart (or maybe a lion). She was perfect, she was kind, she could make a meal that would break a man and in short, she was loved. She treasured her role as a mother, sacrificing so much of herself for her two children. Her time as a granny was where her light shone brightest and to each of them, she passed down the best of her. They all have her glimmer in their eye and a hint of her infectious smile. There were never enough moments for her to spend with them and they will miss her dearly. She had a demeanour that kept her young, a sharp sense of humour and a laugh that will never be forgotten.

The family would like to thank everyone who made her time at home so cherished: Dr. Morin, Carly and staff, all of the staff at Saint Elizabeth and the LHIN especially including Pam, Meg, Gracelyn and Jamie.

Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133) has been entrusted with arrangements. The family will have a celebration of life as soon as restrictions will allow. Please check Patricia’s tribute page for updates on the date and time. Donations can be made in her honour and graciously accepted by women’s place of South Niagara. It was just today that I heard about Pat’s passing. How very sad I am to hear this. I have the fondest and happiest memories of our times together in the earlier years with my late husband, Greig. Please know how thankful I am for knowing her and her wonderful children, Rachel and Ethan. She had a beautiful and steadfast heart. I can see her embracing her Grandchildren with so much love. I will always remember her. Sincerely, Christine Marshall.

I am so sorry to hear of Pat’s passing, my sincere condolences to her family. When the Professional. Building first opened, I worked there for several years and became good friends with Pat. Even after I left to start my family and would come into the X-ray department she still remembered me and we always shared stories of our kids and life. RIP Pat, you certainly were a dedicated, knowledgeable and loveable person and will be missed by all who knew you.

To Pats family,
Pat has been part of me since we were 20 years old. Thinking back on all the wonderful and crazy times in our younger years makes me promise that what happened in Florida, Utica, Halifax, Timmins (etc), stays
there ! 🤷
All the years since being with both our families are moments I will treasure forever.
Dear Pat you will be remembered and missed.
Love dE
