Obituary of Patricia "Pat" Ann Scholfield (nee Beesing)
Our family shares with love and sadness that Patricia "Pat" Ann Scholfield (nee Beesing) of Welland, Ontario, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the age of 90.Born in Buffalo, New York, Pat spent most of her life in Port Colborne and Welland. She was the heart of her family and a steady presence in her community, known for her creativity, compassion, and curiosity about the world.
Pat was active in local causes, serving as president of the Niagara Floodplain Fighters Association and a member of the North Shore Coalition. She worked for the Port Colborne News, the Welland Tribune, and the Port Colborne Museum, and later joined her husband at Scholfield Marine Construction, where she managed sales and finances.
She loved dogs, jigsaw puzzles, painting, reading, and long walks by the water. Her home was always filled with laughter and the smell of something good in the oven. She never let anyone else pick up the tab, dinner or brunch was always on her.
Pat is survived by her husband of 69 years, John Scholfield (93); her children Susan Duncan and Jack Scholfield; and her granddaughters Jennifer Grove and Emily Grove.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A small family gathering will be held, with a celebration of life planned for a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to a local animal rescue or health care charity.

Please be assured of our love and sympathy at this difficult time. We will keep in touch and help in anyway we are able. Most of all our thoughts and prayers are with you. The Beesing sisters from 555 South Street, East Aurora, NY will never be forgotten. Patsy was the last of the first family. We will miss calling her on our Beesing girl luncheons. Always fond memories of going to the beach up in Canada. With loving thoughts. The Beesing girls. Connie, Faith, Andrea, Melissa, Roberta, Virginia and Lorri. Brother Michael Jerome as well.
