Obituary of Patricia Jean Litowski (nee Foster)

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Patricia at her home in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with her loving family by her side, on April 4, 2022 in her 81st year. Patricia is now reunited with her beloved husband Walter and cherished daughter Cheryl Perlaki. Loving mother to Greg (Jen) Litowski of Matthews, NC, Kevin (Sray Neang) Litowski of NOTL, Brian Litowski of NOTL, Janice (Andy) Mayer of St. Catharines and mother-in-law to John Perlaki, of Burlington. Proud grandmother to Sarah, Scarlett, Olivia, Henry, Daniel, Jocelyn, Isabel, Aiden and Kevin Jr. Great-grandmother to Michael. Pat was dearly loved by her sister Beverly (Clifford) Olney of Watertown, NY and her brother James (Linda) Foster of West Seneca, NY. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Art & Lily Bell Foster of Buffalo, NY, Michael & Mary Litowski of NOTL, and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Patricia was born in Watertown, New York. While living in Buffalo, she worked as a Bell telephone operator. She and her husband Walter were married on July 14, 1962, and would eventually settle in Niagara-on-the-Lake where they would raise their five children on their family farm. Patricia worked at the Niagara District School Board for over 35 years as a Janitorial Custodian, a job in which she took great pride. Patricia was known for being a huge cat lover. She also enjoyed decoupage crafts. Patricia had a green thumb in growing her blackberries and raspberries on the farm; they were her pride and joy, and could be found in some local fruit markets. She was a longtime member of Calvary Church in St. Catharines, and during the years of her attendance she could often be found teaching Sunday school and helping out in the kitchen.

Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A private family graveside service will take place at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery in NOTL, with a Celebration of Life being held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada.

Dear Greg, Kevin, Brian, Janice & family,
I wish to send you all my deepest sympathy for your loss. I’m a mix of happy and sad, knowing she has been reunited with Jesus and her loved ones, but also knowing your sadness in her absence.
