In Loving Memory of

Obituary of Patra Nadine DeCourcey
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patra DeCourcey, in her home on March 22, 2022, at the age of 53. She will be forever loved and remembered by her daughter, Kyla DeCourcey, also by her mothers Gloria DeCourcey, Bernice Collins, father Roy DeCourcey, and by her half-brothers, Randy and Danny. Patra will be missed tremendously by her sister Karen, niece Jamie-Lynn, boyfriend Rob Hodgson, dear friends Carol Ann, Crystal V, Wilda, and especially by her long-time caregiver Dawn Wolfe (Brain Injury Niagara) who Patra loved and cherished. She was predeceased by her nephew Steven.Back in the day, Patra was a dedicated social worker who gave her time to supporting families in Niagara. After experiencing an incident which left her with a brain injury, she wasn't able to continue with her career. However, she found a greater purpose which was to be a pillar of strength for her family; often being the one to make a phone call and check in with those she loved. Her spirit, love and inspirational ways always had an impact on her family and friends; as she lived by her favourite motto: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger". So, with that encouragement, together we will remember those words through these dark and difficult times. Our memories and ongoing love for Patra, and her love for us, will continue to guide us in the months and years ahead.
In accordance with Patra’s wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A celebration of Patra’s life will be held on Saturday, May 7th (the day before Mother’s Day), from 2:00pm- 7:00pm, hosted at Rob Hodgson’s home, in Niagara Falls. Memorial donations may be given to Brain Injury Association of Niagara.

My deepest condolences to Rob and family. Rest in peace my friend 💞
I have worked with Patra for over twelve years❤️ It has been my honour and privilege to be a part of Patra’s life and growth. I have many fond memories and stories of our years together. I will miss the late phone calls, the sarcastic banter and especially being called “little girl” and I would always reply with young lady.
To Kyla and Rob, Patra loved you both very dearly even in those difficult times you both stayed by her side while her and I figured things out ❤️
To the DeCoucey family I am sorry for your loss and grieving❤️
I will leave everyone here with one of Patras favourite songs by Adele- Keep on chasing pavements.. even if it leads no where ❤️
