Obituary of Nino Falato
Peacefully, in his home and exactly where he wanted to be, Nino passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 71.He will be forever loved by his beloved wife Colleen and by the apple of his eye, his daughter Kristin (Joshua). Nino was a cherished son-in-law of Charlotte Walker and a loving brother of Vingy (Pat), Mary (Rob) and brother-in-law of Carrie (Brett). Adored uncle of Jennifer (Dave), Stephanie, John (Chloe), James and great-uncle to Leila, Cecilia, and Hudson. He has been reunited with his parents Antonio and Ada, and also with his father-in-law Conrad Walker.
Nino had a long and fulfilling career at Dana, from which he retired after many years of dedicated service. He was known for his hard work, commitment, and determination, but above all, for his deep love and devotion to his family and friends. An avid traveler, Nino cherished the time spent with his loved ones, always making room for family gatherings and creating lasting memories. A social butterfly, he was blessed with a great circle of friends who will miss his warm presence.
Nino’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. David Rosa, Dr. VanderMeer, Dr. Conen, and their dedicated teams for the compassionate care and unwavering support they provided to Nino throughout his illness.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, Niagara Falls. A private family gathering will be held, and cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre in Nino's memory.

Dear Colleen
I am so sorry to hear of Nino’s passing. My condolences to you and Kristin and Carrie and to Nino’s family.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sending hugs and love.
I first met Nino almost 30 years ago. We were co-workers together at Hayes Dana in Thorold and we became friends instantly. While we worked a lot of hours together we found we had the same thoughts and opinions on a number of things.Maybe it was the whole Italian connection thing. Who knows; didn’t matter.
Oh we would disagree on occasion and we would debate and argue to prove our points. But there was always a mutual class and respect shown towards each other. Good times were always easy as well when the wives were also included.
Nino was very fortunate to have Colleen in his life and he knew it because he told me.
Colleen , you did a fantastic job in all the aspects of patience, care and compassion that Nino needed right to his last breath Our deepest condolences to
Colleen and Kristin and the entire family. Nino “mio fratello” we’ll see you on the other side.
Nino was my co-worker, partner and friend. I will always remember all laughs and good times we had at work and play. Nino was a true friend and he was someone that helped me in my life without question. I will miss him greatly and all my love to his family. Rest in peace my friend. Love always.
To Nino and his family my deepest sympathies, he will be truly missed .
To the family of Nino,
We are deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Nino. On behalf of my father Renato, my mother Teresa, myself, my brother, and all our immediate family, we want to express our heartfelt sympathies during this difficult time.
Nino was truly unforgettable. As a young boy, I have fond memories of visiting his parents’ house and seeing him when he was younger, with his long hair and that amazing hot rod car—he even reminded me of Geddy Lee from Rush! Those memories have always stayed with me. More recently, within the last few years, it was such a joy when he and his wife, Colleen, came over to my parents’ house for dinner.
May Nino rest in peace, and may God bless him and your family.
With love and prayers🙏😢,
Ben and all the Foschini Family
Very sorry to hear of Nino’s passing. He worked at the same place as Leo for 40 years, was always fun, happy, hard-working for sure. He became a life-long good friend. His compassion for others was immense, he showed care and concern for anyone needing help. He was a wonderful soul and we will miss him. Condolences to his wonderful loving wife, Colleen, who exemplified strength and support through all the struggles with this terrible disease. We love you, Colleen. Nino’s spirit lives on.
