Obituary of Neil Davy

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Neil Davy. He departed peacefully on February 21st, 2023 in his 76th year at home in Niagara Falls with his loving wife, Susanne of 41 years by his side. He is survived by his children, Christopher Ross (Cheri), Sandra Smith (Michael), James Davy (Ine) and Angela Davy. Cherished grandfather to Sophia, Jack, Kira, Alita, Asha , as well as bonus grandfather to Caleb and Isabel. Big Brother to Linda Corbitt, Janice Davy and Karen Gandey. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, Ina and James Davy.

Neil was born in Montreal, Quebec on December 16th, 1946. He was a city boy through and through and would fondly reminisce about his memories growing up in Verdun, Quebec.

Neil had a variety of interesting careers. He dedicated the majority of his career to the Fire Services in Ft. McMurray and Edmonton, Alberta. His love of adventure resulted in a career move to Botswana, Africa with his family to continue his journey in the Fire Service and giving his family many great memories. Some of our favorite memories are off-roading in his Land Rover in the Kalahari and enjoying a good braai. He had a passion for music and operated a DJ service for many years. Later, Neil and his family moved to Niagara Falls where he finished his working days as a Table Games Dealer at Casino Niagara. After his retirement, he enjoyed driving a school bus. Neil was a wonderful storyteller and an avid writer. While all these adventures made for great memories and tales to tell, Neil was most proud of his family. We know Neil would be especially happy to learn his children have found their big brother Christopher.

Many thanks to the Palliative care team and to especially his wonderful Nurse, Christopher for all their care and compassion.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for close family and friends will be held during the summer. Donations can be made to Heart Niagara.
