Obituary of Mollie Taylor

Mollie Taylor, a Scottish born mother, sister, wife, grandmother, aunt, friend and valued member of the community left her life of 94 years peacefully with family by her side. Mollie, an avid cyclist, was born in Aberdeen Scotland where she was married in 1947 at the age of 20 to rival cycling club member Peter Taylor (d.1999). She sailed the ocean to Canada in 1952 with her 3 year old daughter Denise to reunite with Peter, where they began the life that many were blessed to be a part of. Mollie touched the lives of many, including her 3 daughters, 4 grandchildren (Erin, Graeme, Nikki, Rocco), 5 great grandchildren (Cameron, Alycia, Riley, Cassie, Leah), 3 great great grandchildren (Marissa, Henley, Holden) and several nieces and nephews in Scotland and Canada. She lived a busy life as an active member of her community, while caring for her daughters Denise (Taylor), Patrice (Orr), and Shonah (Enzo Laurenti). A member of the UCW at Central United Church and Welland Liberal Ladies. Mollie enjoyed golfing, curling, swimming and anything involving the outdoors or family. Those that were lucky enough to have known Mollie throughout her life can attest to her quick wit and natural sense of humour right up until the peaceful end. Mollie was not afraid to speak the truth, “what you see is what you get” was what she would always say. Mollie leaves an impact on all the lives she has been a part of, leaving five generations of family as she moves forward from this physical world to join her beloved husband Peter.

In keeping with Mollie's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family of the Late Mollie Taylor invite you for a Celebration of her Life taking place at Central United Church 12 Young Street Welland, ON on Sunday September 26, 2021. We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was a shining star when she was part of the St. Charles Village community, and has been missed since her move. She was lucky to have her loving daughters who truly cared about Molly and would do anything for her.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

So sorry. Your Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother was a truly interesting person who led a very active life…especially golfing and curling. She always had a smile on her face whenever we saw her. My husband, Bill, always teased Mollie about her great set of ‘pins’ (legs) which always made her smile from ear to ear.
She was a dear friend and will be truly missed.

Sending our heartfelt condolences to Mollie’s family. She was a wonderful neighbour to our young family years ago on Aqueduct St. She forever touched our hearts after sharing her shortbread, wine, stories, and many, many years of Christmas Cards. I hope you all find peace knowing she lived such a long and wonderful life.
