Obituary of Michael "Mike" Brewer

Beloved son, father, grandpa, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on June 8, 2023, at the age of 70. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Mike is survived by his loving daughter, AmyLee (Tristen) McIntyre, granddaughter Scarlett McIntyre and his stepchildren, Karen Glaves and Matthew Glaves. He is the cherished brother of Linda (the late Willy) Warner, Terry Brewer, David Brewer, and Sandy (Jim) Skingley. Mike was an affectionate uncle to Bobby, Jimmy (Stephanie), Jennifer, Ian, and Ryan. He is the son of the late Ian (Bonnie) Brewer (2023) and the late Loretta Brewer (nee Gibson) (1991). He will be missed by his many extended family members and friends.

Known for his tough exterior and gentle heart, Mike had a genuine passion for embracing the "Tough Guy" attitude. He found joy in various activities such as fishing, martial arts, especially inspired by Bruce Lee, and following professional wrestling, including WWE. In addition to his love for humans, Mike had a deep appreciation for animals. He found solace in their presence and held a special affinity for eagles and wolves. His compassion extended to all creatures, big and small.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to Mike's best friend, Guy McGee, for providing unwavering support and giving him a renewed sense of purpose during his darkest days. As per Mike's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Mike's Life will be held on Saturday June 24, 2023 at 11am please contact the family at [email protected] for location details. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Wildlife Federation, organizations that Mike held dear to his heart.

Amy Lee, my deepest sympathies on the loss of your father. You provided constant love and support to him, and were the only constant in his life for many years. I wasn’t aware he had a new girlfriend; while they came and went you were his consistent rock.

My condolences to Mike’s family and friends for your loss.
Along with his love for animals and the outdoors..he enjoyed playing golf.
I had the pleasure of joining him many times at Whiskey Run and Legends.
Even with his declining health, Mike could still smash that ball and would go out as often as possible.

I will remember our friend fondly for his strength and character.

Rest easy..my friend. Suffer no more.

In loving memory ...
I/we pledge to make a memorial donation.
