QUINLAN, Michael J. "Big Mike"

Peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the Eventide Nursing Home.  He is survived by his daughter, Frances. Dear brother of Peter (Doreen) Quinlin and Patricia Wallington. Mike will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, especially by his loyal and long-time friend Bob McCloy, and also by his friends Janice Amos, Carol Toner and David Jannison. Mike was predeceased by his loving mother Margaret, brother Paul, brother-in-law Donnie and by his niece Tracy. 

Big Mike was a well-known entrepreneur and educator within the hospitality industry. He was also dedicated to supporting numerous charities and was an activist for political and social changes within the Niagara Region. 

A special thank you to Major Renee Clarke and the entire staff of Eventide Home for their compassionate care and support given to Mike. In accordance with Mike's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be given to the Canadian Diabetes Association. So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I remember Mike when I was growing up in Niagara – such a nice guy.

Sorry and relieved Mike is free now. He will be missed by all I’m sure a big heart has left us. RIP Big Mike.

To All of the Quinlan Family and Friends,
We are very sorry to hear of the passing of “Big Mike” . He was a gentle giant, the “Hitching Post” was mentioned daily in the Sacco house for many years. He will be sadly missed by many, Mike has a great crowd waiting to welcome him on the other side.

I had the privilege of knowing Michael when I was growing up in Niagara. He was very special to me and I adored him.
