Obituary of Michael Bousquet

Michael Bousquet, 56, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday November 10, 2022, with the love of his life, Cherie, by his side. Cherished Dad to his fur baby Ivy. Loving son of the late Albert and the late Marilyn and son-in-law to Gale and the late Gary Meek. Brother to Monique Edwards and Brother-in-law to Jennifer (Jason) Hughes and James (Angela) Meek. Beloved nephew to Patricia Meek and a special uncle to Matthew, Alexandra, Mirella, Alston (Faith), Derrick and Kali. Mike was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and had since moved to Ontario and then to Alberta and finally settling back in Ontario. He will be missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him, everywhere he went.

Mike had many passions in life that included going for drives with Cherie and Ivy, attending Church, woodworking, playing pool, going to old car shows and spending time at the lake; however, his number one passion in life was spending time with his family and friends. Through all of his recent struggles, Mike never lost his incredible sense of humour, and could always be relied upon to find the funny (and make you laugh) right up until the end. To know him, was to love him.

In accordance with Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. at The Village Church, 2536 Stevensville Road, Stevensville. Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Juravinski Cancer Center or to London Health Sciences.

It’s taken me a while to think of what to write here. Mike was an extremely special person with one of the sneakiest senses of humour ever. He once made me laugh for many days over a completely outrageous comment he made. Frankly, I still laugh about it. That comment can’t be shared on here but if you ever want to hear it, ask me! I will miss the twinkle in his eye and the kindness of his heart. Sincerest condolences.

Dear : Cherie
I wanted to send our condolences to you and your family with the passing of Mike .
We all are still in shock with the news !
There are so many things that remind me of him..all our gym days , his love of sports and the love of music ..and gondola pizza!🍕
One night we listened to lightening crashes pretty well an entire evening , on cassette!📼
Mike never lost his sense of humour and I’m sure that he is making everyone laugh in heaven!
My heart hurts for you , but his memory will live on in you ! 💔

There are no words. These things just aren’t supposed to happen. When they do, we can only be here for those left behind; to help keep you going. To remind you how amazing you are and that those who left would want you to not be sad, as hard as it is not to be. They would want you to carry on knowing they are beside you every step of this mountain you are now facing. They will hold you up when you stumble or fall, and so will we. Because there will be days when moving forward seems impossible. Listen to your body. LOVE yourself and take as much time as you need to take each and every step forwad, as small as they may be. But take them as Mike would want you to. Sending you love and strength! 💔❤️

Cherie, God placed you both as neighbors to my mom Jean Lapadura for a reason, you were both angels from heaven. Mike was more like a grandson to her than a neighbor and they were as close as can be, they had a very special bond. She was devastated to hear Mike was gone. Even though mom is in her early stages of deminsa she remembered her time spent with Mike and their long talks in her, kitchen. She told me he had a way of looking at me with so much love. This may have been the most lucid thing my mom has said in a long time. She loved him. My sincere condolences and know the Mike really had a special place in momma Jean’s heart. All my love.
