Obituary of Mathew Hutton
Hutton, Mathew BryanPassed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a very short but tough fight against cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife Darcie and their daughter Mathilda. Also survived by his parents Mary Hutton and Vernon Hutton and sisters Tracy Walding (Darrin) and Melissa Albrecht (Stephen). Mathew’s nieces and nephews (Jayden, Caitlin, Jake, Myra, Brody, Colby, Josh, Zach, and Maddi) of South Australia. He is also survived by his uncle Ronald (Christine), uncle Robert, and aunt Shona. He is mourned by his mother and father-in-law Lynn and Ron Lyons of Niagara Falls, and sister and brother-in-law Kelly and Dayman Perry of Niagara Falls, as well as two nephews, Tristan and Connor. He will also be sorely missed by his best friends Chris (Chantal) of Perth and Josh (Jessica) of St. Catharines. To those not named; I did not forget you. You are all a part of our extended family and know that you mourn with us. Mathew was born in Loxton, South Australia and spent his youth on his family’s orange block and playing in the Murray River. He left South Australia for Western Australia in 2004 where he met Darcie. They married at the Perth Registrar’s Office in November of 2006 and welcomed Mathilda the following June. Mathew and Darcie lived all over Western Australia from Perth to Gingin to Port Hedland where they made many memories and, more importantly, many friends. In 2013 they made the move to Canada where they settled in Fonthill and quickly found a group of friends who became part of the family. Mathew’s kind and gentle nature made people gravitate towards him and all who knew him were treated equally. He was truly a remarkable person. I would like to thank the nurses and doctors who assisted us throughout this short journey. In particular, the amazing palliative care team who made it possible for Matthew to be with us at home in his final days. Interment will be held at 11:30am on Friday, 5th of July at the Willow’s Rest section of Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls with a gathering to be held at the family home and friends are welcome to drop in at any time after 5pm. “No, the journey does not end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take”

May Mathew rest peacefully thousands of kilometres from where he spent his childhood. May you, who now have a huge hole in your lives, be given strength to go forward with memories clear and bold. It was a privilege to teach Mathew, a quiet little strawberry blonde boy who enjoyed the company of his friends. I remember how much he was loved by his sisters and how proud his mum was of him. I trust that we will all meet again one day. Now that I have seen his grown up photo I will be looking out for him. May God hold you all close at this, the saddest of times.
My sincere condolences to Matthew’s family. We grew up together in New Residence and Loxton. He was forever teaching us all things, everyone looked up to Matt. Always so genuine and kind with a huge heart. I treasure our childhood memories.
Dear Mary, Tracey and Mel our love to you all at this very sad time thinking of you all xx Denis and Sue Drabsch

Everyone says nice things, but in Matts case it’s all true. You don’t need us to tell you how wonderful he is, but I hope we are all confirming what you already know.

He was an integral part to so many lives, and i will be forever grateful to the personal lessons i learnt from his example. Thank you Matt. It was a total honour to know you, and be numbered amongst your friends. My heart is breaking.
To my good friend and dear neighbour Mathew. I will never forget our driveway conversations in the snow and summer sun, your wry smile and easy going temperament. You were one of a kind and I’m at a loss, you departed us far too soon. I never really got to spend a lot of time with you because we were both on the go far too many times, but we both took the time to wave to each other in our passing’s. I will miss you dearly, but rest assured my friend that I promise to be there for Darcie and Mathilda in the challenges ahead. I am a better person for knowing you and your family.
Sending all my deepest love & sympathy to all the family xxxx
