He will be remembered by his loving mother and best friend Tina (Steve) , father Dudley, his siblings: Malcolm (Kate), Marcus (Faith), Trevon, Laselle, Lastaysha, Shajkeal, Laniqua, Jidda, Natasha (Nick), Christina, his nieces and nephews: Jaleel, Avery, Quinton, Leo, Alaki, Mylles, Jayla, Kyrese, Laiyah, Tashawn, Marquise, Buddha, his Aunts and Uncles: Lisa, Nikki (Ryan), Juanita, Lisa K. Martin was predeceased by his Grandma Dolores, Grandpa Rick, and Grandma Brenda.

Martin was born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario.
He is remembered as outgoing, full of love and for his uniqueness. Martin never held back in any aspect of life. He really valued spending time with his niece, nephew and cousins. Martin took pride in teaching them, playing with them, and making sure they felt the love he had for them. Martin worked as a roofer and often talked about his goal of opening his own roofing business. He was very inspired with technology and loved learning about it. He often spent time on his computer or immersing himself into video games. Martin also enjoyed swimming and became an amazing diver. He could often be found doing backflips off of a bridge around the city, he was fearless. His favourite food is collard greens which he would refer to as “black people food”. He enjoyed watching Anime, listening to R&B and Hip Hop music. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye so soon. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

I never thought I’d see the day bruh bruh. You were the coolest, hardest cat out there. You told me to always keep my game face on. Don’t show em weakness. You made me a better kid man. I’m proud to call you my cousin and I hope you find peace and solace cuz. That’s 3 of us from the old crew gone. I’ve lost 15 people this last 2 years now and it hurt me to my core that the people I thought would be around for time are disappearing so quickly. I never told you this but I got mad love for you cuz. Reposa En Pace

Our bond was so strong from the time we were kids. We used to call each other “twin” and laugh at ridiculous inside jokes. Martin always made me feel so safe, loved, and accepted. The last time I seen him I was able to give him my first self-published book and he was so proud. I hope I continue to make him proud every day.

Though I am out of the province and cannot be there right now, I am sending so much love to Tina, Marcus, Malcolm, and the rest of the family. You all have treated me like family since I was young, and I will always support you like family, too. XOXO

My boyfriend and I played Xbox with Martin… I knew him for a short time. But the time I did was full of laughter, joy and good times. When I heard of his passing, my heart broke. I message him everyday in the hope one day he responds.

Although I wish to know the circumstance of his passing, I respect his family and friends at this painful time.

I would like his family to know the impact of his presence and how kind and gracious Martin was. He’s left a lasting impression for a lifetime and I wish him safe passage to his next journey.

All my love to his family

Caitlin
