Obituary of Marie Helen Morningstar

Passed away on November 15, 2024 at the age of 92 at Eventide Home in Niagara Falls. Marie was born on February 28,1932 to Raymond Angus Morningstar and Helen Alena Morningstar (née Wanker) in Port Colborne.
Marie is survived by her brother Cameron (Sandy), her son Dean Pilkey, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins throughout Canada and the US. She was predeceased by both her parents and siblings Kelly Culver Morningstar (1930-1943), Orville Raymond Morningstar (1932-2005), Wayne C Morningstar (1939-1956), Joan Faustine Leblanc (1945-2024) and Richard Kay Morningstar (1950-2022).

After completing her Secretarial Course at the Welland Business College in 1951, Marie began working in the banking industry. She worked for the Royal Bank of Canada for over 35 years, proudly retiring in 1997. Marie lived in Mississauga for the majority of her life. Her passions included the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. She loved animals and in particular cats, rabbits and budgies.

A small family memorial and interment has taken place at Overholt Cemetery in Port Colborne where Marie was laid to rest, reunited with generations of her family including her parents, grandparents and most of her siblings.
