Obituary of Maria Hansen

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Maria on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Welland County Hospital at the age of 81. Beloved Mother of Tina and Bob (Courtney), Cherished Oma to Lilly and Grammy to Abigail, Addison, Aiden and Avery.

She will be missed by many extended family members and friends. She was a unique woman with a great personality and our family owes her a lot; She shaped us, loved us and it is an honour to have had her as a mother, grandmother and friend. We will always miss her and she leaves a big void in our lives. Maria had a feistiness that allowed her to achieve any goals she set out to do. She was known around Welland for her business, Bertrand Vacuum Cleaners and was always there to lend a helping hand. Her greatest joy in her life was her family and being able to watch her grandchildren grow.

In accordance with Maria’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family Inurnment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Center.
