Obituary of Margaret Terryberry
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Rose Terryberry (Blackley). Following a long illness which she faced with strength and grace, Margaret passed away peacefully at Oakwood Park Lodge on Friday October 17th, 2025, at the age of 84.She will be dearly missed by her three children, Terry (Stacey) Blackley, Lori Blackley (Dan Murawski), and William (Lynda) Blackley. She was proud Grammy to Shelby Blackley, Ian Blackley, and Nana to Nolan (Natalie) Murawski, and Owen (Emma) Murawski. She was predeceased by her parents Roland and Gertrude Terryberry, as well as her sisters June, Barb, Carrie, and Judy. She will be remembered by her brothers Roland (Sonny), Jack, and Kenny. She was lovingly known as “Aunt Pete” to many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Margaret took pride in raising her children and maintaining a clean, comfortable, and loving home. Eventually, she retired from Niagara Parks where she enjoyed many years selling delicious fudge (and sneaking some out for loved ones). In her spare time, she loved playing Bingo on the weekends, watching her favourite soap operas while mastering word searches, and having coffee with her good friends Bonnie and Bev. Her family will fondly remember her many Boxing Day meals, her love of scratch tickets, and how much she cared for her grand-pets. Even in the most difficult moments of her illness, Margaret displayed remarkable resilience and courage. She continued to sing and dance, bringing joy to the wonderful staff and fellow residence at Oakwood Park Lodge.
Cremation has taken place with a private interment to take place at a later date. If desired, donations made in memory of Margaret to the Alzheimer’s Society and/or Oakwood Park Lodge would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 102A – 4300 Drummond Road, Niagara Falls. Condolences can be made online at essentialscbs.com
