Obituary of Margaret Kalogeropoulos
Peacefully passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Hospice Niagara, at the age of 75. Beloved wife of 54 years of marriage to Pete. Cherished mother of Astero (Simon) and Peter. Loving grandma of August and Thomas, and great-grandmother of Audrey. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends. A special thank you to Hospice Niagara for their compassionate care and support. In accordance with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). Memorial donations given to Hospice Niagara or to a charity of one’s choice, would be appreciated by the family. I had the pleasure or perhaps honour, of knowing Margaret through the Friends of Short Hills Park. She was a Renaissance woman whose talents and interests were vast and not just limited to the park. Her knowledge and thoughtful nature will be missed.

Our deepest condolences on passing of Margaret. Our father/husband, Aurelio enjoyed the countless times he and Margaret were able to go birdwatching at the Bruce Trail. They are likely already booking an outing up in heaven.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss and my thoughts are with you.. Margaret was a lovely person and I have many happy memories of working with her during our time together in the Niagara Bruce Trail Club. I also remember the great time we all had together., hiking and touring in Newfoundland .

Dear Pete and Family I did not know you only Margaret, I worked with her for over 20 yrs, last times was in the recovery room. I always enjoyed my time with Margaret. We always enjoyed the Greek dishes she would bring for our pot lucks . All the best , take care of your selves. Jean Wiebe

I am deeply saddened to learn of Margaret’s passing. It was my privilege, as well as those of the Niagara Penninsula Community, to have had her care for people who passed through our office. In her capacity as office nurse, she showed professionalism, as well as sympathy, to all patients. My deepest sympathies to you, Pete and your family. I always enjoyed talking with Margaret about hiking and discussing the subject of the Bruce trail and her involvement with it.
Her passion for the Bluebird program in the Shorthills Park will be hard to replace.
