Obituary of Lynne Emily Prine

Lynne Prine passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, in the early hours of September 30, 2024. Born in Brantford, Ontario on November 4, 1956, she was the cherished daughter of Robert Prine and Jean Angus, both of whom predeceased her.

Lynne is lovingly remembered by her three children: Joe Bonsignore, Alis Bonsignore (Jimmy Dougan), and Jake Bonsignore (Catie Delaney), as well as her beloved grandchildren: Austin, Lucas, Calvin, and Henry. She is also survived by her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As a dedicated single mother of three, Lynne poured her heart into her family and all the extended children who spent time in her home, always putting others first. A true hockey Mom, she could be found cheering from the stands of every game and practice, her Tim Hortons cup in hand. Lynne also had a passion for plants and worked for many years as a horticulture technician. She enjoyed her time as a dispatcher for forest fires in northern British Columbia, embracing the challenges and rewards of the role.

Lynne loved camping and cherished her travels across Canada and the U.S., with her children being born along her journeys. Most notable of these travels, the mountains of British Columbia held a special place in her heart. In her later years she shared her love for travel with her grandson Austin, often listening to their favorite music together on the road.

In keeping with Lynne's wishes, cremation has taken place, and arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A celebration of Lynne's life will be held on Saturday November 23rd at the Club C Event Centre in Port Colborne from 3 - 6 p.m. If you are unable to attend and would like to send flowers they can be ordered from Goodman’s Florist at 644 S Pelham Rd, Welland, ON L3C 3C8.

Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen and unheard,
but always near
Still loved and still missed,
and very dear

Very sorry to hear of Lynne’s passing – We were together from 1971 until 1982 and for the past 3 years were emailing each other from time to time, just staying in touch. Fond memories which is how I will always remember her. RIP

Thank you for thinking of me Marjorie and Janet. How sad I am for everyone of you.. I met Lynne first when her brother was married in Calgary and then when they moved back from BC. They had been in a terrible car accident and their dog had run away. Lynne called Peter to see if he could help locate the dog and keep it safe while she healed in the hospital. Pins in her arm, bumps and bruises and dog was found. All was ok. She has been my source of family information over the years and I will miss her lovely letters and phone calls. Gods blessing to you guys. Cousin in law Lynn Stenabaugh.
