Obituary of Lynda Karen Cresswell

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Lynda Karen Cresswell on August 24th, 2025. After living with incredible pain for many years, Lynda chose to leave this world on her own terms - having had enough of the suffering, she departed with courage, dignity, and grace.

Lynda’s kindness and selflessness were not just a part of her - they were her very essence. If someone offered even the smallest gesture, she found extraordinary ways to say thank you. She brought baked goods, thoughtful gifts, and heartfelt notes of gratitude, always making sure that others felt seen, appreciated, and loved. Helping others was her greatest joy. She made it her mission to bring light into people’s lives - whether it was fulfilling their needs, lending her strength, or even finding ways to manifest the silliest wishes into reality.

Her adventurous spirit was evident from the start. As a child, she helped her father build an amphibious aircraft, sparking a lifelong courage to try the impossible. In later years, she found joy in skiing and in time spent at her beloved island - a place reached only by boat, sometimes in the middle of the night and under treacherous conditions. Yet nothing deterred her. Her bravery, resourcefulness, and determination made everything possible for her. There was truly nothing Lynda could not do once she set her mind to it.

Lynda never missed a chance to show gratitude or to give of herself. If someone helped her - even in the smallest way - she’d arrive soon after with baked goods and love, making sure no kindness went unnoticed. To her, giving back wasn’t a gesture, it was a way of life.

She had a rare magic about her. If you ever said out loud that you wished for something, you had to be careful, because it might just show up on your doorstep. She made it her mission to bring dreams to life, no matter how big or small. I once joked with her, smiling, “I really like a pink giraffe with purple spots.” I laughed because I knew, without a doubt, that her wheels were already turning, and she’d be wondering how on earth she could make some version of that happen. That was who she was: a woman who could turn laughter into possibility, and possibility into love made real.

Though words cannot capture the depth of her spirit, her legacy is clear. She showed us that kindness is never wasted, that selflessness is strength, and that love is best expressed through action. Her memory will live on in the generosity and compassion we extend to others - just as she taught us.

Lynda's life was an adventure, her heart a gift, and her presence a blessing. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
