It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Louis James Barnes, on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Louis was welcomed to the other side by his wife, Margaret (2014) and special friend, Sylvia Jenkins (2020). He was the loving father of Linda Ronholm (Russ), Cheryl Cavers (Mel), Diane Williams, and son Bradley Barnes, devoted Papa to eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Louis will be fondly remembered by his brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the River Road Retirement Residence and the palliative care staff of GNGH.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A graveside memorial will be held in honour of Louis at Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, we'd ask that you offer a random act of kindness, especially to our health care workers.

Barnes Family;
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember him fondly in the 80’s and 90’s.
He was a character, always with a joke and a smile. I remember him and Marg talked me into catering a Robby Burns dinner at the church, and then precided to point out, I am the only Asian person there. 😅
They were a great couple. Miss them dearly, 🙏 RIP.

Dearest Louis, our old gang is getting smaller and smaller. One day we will all rejoice in God’s love when we meet again. Until then save me a chair. Betty
I knew Louie from Laura Secord Apartments. He was a kind and funny man. I will miss my chats with him. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
