Obituary of Louis DeSouza

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Louis DeSouza, a cherished resident of Virgil, Ontario. Louis was an extraordinary human being, known for his kindness and unwavering commitment to helping others.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 54 years, Yvonne, along with seven wonderful children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him.
Louis had a distinguished career in Guyana and Canada in the Food and Beverage Industry, including serving in a senior capacity and Board Member of DIH and Demerara Distillers. His culinary talents shone brightly as the owner of the popular Eatwells restaurant, where daily lineups were a testament to his skill and passion.
An avid fisherman and a dedicated hunter, Louis cherished his time spent in the Amazon jungle—his personal sanctuary. He was also recognized for his generosity, often creating educational and self-supporting opportunities for others, embodying his belief in creating a "better" life for those around him.
Louis enjoyed time with family and friends, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew him. His sense of humor and fond stories of his homeland will be missed, along with his rare combination of respect, gentility, and encouragement that inspired everyone to reach their fullest potential.

He will be sorely missed, but for every life he touched, a star will shine brighter in his memory. Louis’ final farewell was as regal as the king he was—a fitting tribute to a remarkable life.
