Obituary of Lorraine Margaret Manley
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Manley (née Edwards) on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the NHS-Niagara Falls Site, surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old. She has been reunited with her parents William and Margaret Edwards (née Selby), son Richard (2024), brother Gordon, son-in-law Rob and brother-in-law Bob. Left behind to tell her story are her loving children; William Manley, Laura Coia (Ivo), Charlie Manley (Elaine), Thomas Manley and Diane Engelhart, her adored grandchildren; Zack, Rachel (Jim), Corrado (Saskia), Vincenzo (Shawn), Christina (Rob), Kendal, Alex and Thomas, her cherished six great grandchildren and her dear sisters Olive Steinhauer and Barbara Briggs.Lorraine was a beacon of kindness and love. She was known for her open-door policy, always welcoming those in need with a warm meal, a listening ear or a place to stay. Her infectious happiness and loving spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. Known affectionately as "Bumble" by her daughter, Laura, her favorite saying was always, "I'm fine," reflecting her resilient and cheerful nature. Throughout her life, Lorraine worked tirelessly in various roles, from a cleaner to a waitress at Falls Manor and finally at a meat packaging facility. No matter where she worked, her dedication and kindness shone through.
In her free time, Lorraine enjoyed indulging in murder mystery novels, baking her famous carrot cake and perfecting a hot chocolate recipe that had been lovingly passed down through generations. Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be missed by her many friends and family.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at NHS-Niagara Falls Site for the care and compassion during Lorraine's stay.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. An interment at Fairview Mauseleum will be held in the near future. If desired, donations in Lorraine's memory can be made to Brain Cancer Research and would be appreciated by her family.
