Obituary of Lorraine Georgette Bisson (née Boulet)

Lorraine Bisson, a beloved wife, cherished mother, adored Mémère, and a beacon of love and laughter, passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2023, at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family. For an incredible half-century, Lorraine was the beloved wife of Moe (Maurice), and together, they created a home filled with love and laughter. She was the loving mom to Lianne (Kevin Jack) and Lenny (Tina). Proud and cherished Mémère to her grandchildren Hailey, Sylvie, Ayla, and Alex (Alexandre). Born to Henri-Louis and Mariette Boulet, Lorraine was one of six children, and she will be dearly missed by her siblings. Lorraine will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and the entire Bisson/Boulet clan. Predeceased by her parents and by her in-laws Alphonse and Marie Jeanne Bisson.

Lorraine's love knew no bounds, and she had a remarkable ability to make people smile with her playful sense of humour. She was a natural-born clown, always bringing laughter and joy to those around her. Her warm spirit and welcoming nature made it effortless for her to bring people together, hosting annual get-togethers, and organizing heartwarming Christmas, birthday parties, and impromptu gatherings, "just because," to spend time with her family. A creative soul, Lorraine found joy in artistic pursuits like painting and knitting. She also loved to swim, and delighted in sharing this love with her grandkids, teaching each of them how to swim and creating lasting memories in the water. Lorraine leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of love, laughter, and bringing people together will live on forever in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the ICU staff at NHS - St. Catharines site, including Dr. O, Carly and Darren for their care and compassion.

In accordance with Lorraine's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at Auberge Richelieu, 565 River Rd. Welland, on Tuesday, August 15 from 2-6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the NHS Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.

"We love you to the moon and back."
