Obituary of Linda Lou Scheer

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the privilege of loving her, we share the peaceful passing of Linda Lou Scheer on January 22, surrounded by the family she adored.

Linda was born in Hamilton, Ontario, to Charles and Marie Brooks. She is now joyfully reunited with her beloved sister and best friend, Sharon, and with her parents, who welcomed her home with love. Linda was the proud and devoted mother of three children she cherished beyond measure; Jason, Donny (Lisa), and Lindsay (Chris) Pelissero. Her greatest joy was being “Grandma” to Matthew, Ashley, Serafina, and Sofia, the light of her life and the recipients of her boundless, unconditional love.

Linda shared her life with her companion, Ivan Fischer. Together for over 40 years, they shared countless adventures, from exploring new places to the simple joys of feeding the birds in their backyard. Saturday night dinners were a cherished tradition, filled with laughter and conversation.

A woman of adventure and enthusiasm, Linda was never one to say no, to a plan, a laugh, a shopping trip, or a new experience. A true shopping enthusiast, she could often be spotted around town browsing stores, always impeccably put together with a perfect manicure and her signature red hair. She also cherished her weekly breakfast dates with Lynn and “the girls.” These mornings were sacred, filled with endless coffee refills, laughter, shared stories, and deep friendship. They reflected Linda’s unwavering belief in connection, loyalty, and showing up for the people she loved.

Florida held a very special place in Linda’s heart. It was a place of warmth, comfort, and joy, where she created cherished memories and felt deeply at home. She will be lovingly mourned by family and friends she leaves behind there, especially Robbie, Blondie and George, who held her close in their hearts and lives. Even while bravely battling cancer, Linda continued to bring people together, insisting on family dinners, shared moments, and making new memories with her children and grandchildren.

She was a fighter to the very end, meeting life with courage, grace, and an open heart. Linda taught all who knew her what it truly meant to love fully, generously, and without hesitation. Her spirit, warmth, and kindness will be missed more than words can express, but her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, who carry her love forward every day.

To honour Linda, pause and enjoy a Sunday afternoon watching football and please don’t forget to shout “GO DOLPHINS!” just as she would have wanted, then gather your family together for dinner.

Cremation has taken place. At Linda’s request, there will be no visitation, and funeral services will be private. As an expression of love, donations may be made to the Niagara Falls Humane Society.

We miss you already
