Born in Benny, Ontario in 1935, Leo loved the outdoors. He helped to build a family cottage at Lake Onaping where a lot of family memories were made. He also enjoyed being on the ice, whether it was playing hockey with the Skylon Old Timers hockey team, Sunday skating with the family or watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play. He was a strong man who worked at the Port Weller dry docks for many years and later becoming a custodian for the Niagara District School Board. He would never complain about anything and when asked how he was, his response was always "I'm fine".
