Obituary of Larry Wayne Thomas

Passed away at Greater Niagara General Hospital on November 25, 2021. Larry leaves behind his beloved wife Sandra, who was the love of his life and bestfriend for 9 years of their blissful marriage. He will be missed by his step children Denise (Sherman), April (Barry), Robin (Quincy), and remembered by his grandchildren: Jordan, Nicholas, Brandon, Chase, Tatum, and Deserae. Larry will be fondly thought of by his nieces, nephews and friends. He left behind Mike Sandy who was like a son to Larry. Larry is now reunited with his parents Clara and Earl Thomas, stepfather Bert General, and brothers and sisters.

Larry was born on the Six Nations Reservation, Ontario. He was raised by his mother Clara and his stepfather Bert General. He was a kind, gentle and hardworking man. He developed a travel bug for some nice warm and sunny weather. Larry married the love of his life Sandra on December 28, 2012 in Fort Lauderdale. Together, they enjoyed yearly trips having much fun in the sun! Larry had a long courageous battle with cancer during which he was determined to live life to the fullest. He had wished to travel to Cuba with his wife and will be with her in spirit when she goes next.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). As per Larry’s wishes cremation has taken place and the family will be holding a private gathering. To honour Larry’s Indigenous heritage memorial donations may be made to Indspire. Online condolences may be shared on Larry’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.

Condolences to my loving cousin, Gerald Thomas and his sweet young family (wife Pepper and three daughters, twins Gwendolyn and Sadie and Marigold) of Buffalo, NY, Gerald is Uncle Larry’s only biological child. Larry was preceded in death by his two brothers, and one sister, Gerald, Marty (Tony) and Eleanor.
I also send condolences to Larry’s most recent family and step-children. May we all inclusively remember the sweet and positive memories of Larry.
