Obituary of Kurtis William Lapere

Kurtis William Lapere, a cherished son, father, and a kind human, unexpectedly passed away in Kingston on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the age of 44. He was born on July 8, 1979, and was the beloved son of Sandy and Debbie Lapere. Kurtis was a proud father to his daughters: Breanna, Kyliegh, Myah, and Isabella. He became a grandfather which brought him joy, and he leaves behind his precious grandchildren Ahmayah and Luca.

As the eldest brother, Kurtis held a special place in the hearts of Heather (Mike) and Keegan (Reileigh). He will be remembered by his grandmother, affectionately known as "Gram" – Isabel Stanyer. He embraced his role as Uncle Kurtis to Hailey and Alex, and his unwavering friendship with Adam was a testament to his loyalty.

Kurtis' memory will forever remain in the hearts of numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom were touched by his warmth and genuine spirit. He was predeceased in death by his grandparents William Komaromi, Jim and Doreen Lapere.

Growing up in Niagara and later relocating to Kingston about seven years ago, Kurtis embodied a fearless spirit. He was the one who dared to jump over fences while others walked around them, which was true to his adventurous nature. His infectious laughter brightened countless moments and he would always ride his bike everywhere. Kurtis' love for the outdoors extended to his enthusiasm for fishing and hiking, which he referred to as "rock jumping." With a heart full of compassion, he was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need.

In pursuit of his passion for construction and design, Kurtis founded his own renovation business, aptly named Complete Renovations. His skills spanned a wide range, from laying interlocking brick to drywall construction and framing – a true craftsman in every sense. Beyond his construction expertise, Kurtis had an affinity for working with computers and enjoyed delving into the digital world.

His abiding faith and spiritual beliefs were fundamental to Kurtis' life. His collection of bibles, crucifixes, and crosses were a reflection of his devotion and he would find solace and comfort, a guiding light in both good times and challenging moments.

In accordance with Kurtis' wishes, cremation has taken place there will be no visitation or public service. A private family gathering will be held and interment will take place at Lundy's Lane Cemetery at a later time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.

In honour of Kurtis' memory, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Project Share. Kurtis will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

I only knew him for a while. And he was really easy to talk to. He was positive and tried to make you look at the positive side. He loved his family and his friends and come to think of it. He loved everybody he had his struggles that he wasnt proud of but that didnt affect the person he was. That i knew. And i am gretful to have met him. Im greatful to have had such a great friend for the short time i did. And he will never be forgotten and he will always be cherished. I give his family especially his mother who he spoke of and loved so very much. Im so sorry for your loss you are in my prayers got bless you.
